Short Summary
A 15,000-SF residence in Pound Ridge that reinterprets Mediterranean architecture through a modern lens—grand in scale, precise in detail, and seamlessly integrated with its wooded surroundings.

Project Description
Set within the wooded landscape of Pound Ridge, this 15,000-square-foot home reinterprets Mediterranean architecture through a modern architectural language. Our client envisioned a grand residence defined by arches, symmetry, and stone detailing, while Mandra Workshop sought to balance that classical inspiration with a cleaner, more contemporary expression suited to its natural surroundings.
The design introduces a series of connected wings organized around courtyards and terraces, blending openness with proportion and order. Stone, stucco, and dark metal accents establish a refined material palette that bridges old-world craftsmanship and modern construction. Expansive glazing and rhythmic arcades provide both transparency and depth, creating a home that feels grounded in tradition yet unmistakably current.
The result is an architectural statement—timeless, deliberate, and deeply connected to its landscape.
